Where

WINGS2009 will be based in Windsor Great Park just outside Windsor  in Berkshire which is a region situated about 45km west of London in the south of the UK. It is a rural area with beautiful green countryside but with fast road, rail and air transport links. A number of other locations will be used for different activities.

The nearest airport, London Heathrow (LHR) is located on the edge of Berkshire and it is the UK's major airport with routes to all parts of the world. There are convenient connections to the other London Airports (Gatwick (LGW), Stansted (STN) , Luton (LTN), City (LCY)). Berkshire is easily reached from main-land Europe by rail, road ( tunnel or ferry) and by air.

WINGS2009 as have previous WINGS camps will be situated in Windsor Great Park at the eastern end of Berkshire. If you look on the skyline of the photo you can see the outline of Windsor Castle, one of the homes of the Queen.

WINGS from space! This satellite view is early morning at WINGS2003. It shows the Sub-Camps, Main Arena, the Plaza the Global Development Village, the Circus Zone, the Climbing and Caving area, the Food Distribution Zone and the Staff Cafeteria.  Just out of the picture are the other activity areas at Bears Rails, Dorney Wood and Wraysbury Lake
