Take Off Programme

What is Take Off?

Take Off aims to offer an opportunity for all members of the Scouting and Guiding movements to be part of the WINGS2009 experience in the build up to and then at camp itself. It is open to all, and not just those units attending the WINGS2009 experience. Take Off is already running and will be online for all to access in the form of  Launch Pad newsletters with competitions, programme ideas and other useful information for all involved in Scouting and Guiding.

Launch Pad will be issued early October, January, April with a final issue in July just before WINGS2009.

At WINGS2009 itself we will also be running an In Flight programme, with further details to follow.

Each Launch Pad will be based on the Scouting and Guiding zones that form part of our balanced programmes. Throughout the build up to WINGS2009 there will be plenty of opportunity for your units to develop knowledge and skills about the world we live in and an understanding of some of the inventors and inventions that have made a difference.

 There will also be opportunities to foster relationships with units from across the world ahead of the event in joining as pen friends and then join with them in the full international experience, either at WINGS2009 or electronically!

The next Launch Pad will focus on the Global, Fitness and Lifestyle themes of Scouting and Guiding programmes and will form the first challenge for the award.
